A straight flight staircase is a linear set of stairs that runs directly from one floor to another without any turns, corners, or intermediate landings

A Single Winder (L-Shaped) staircase is a 90-degree turning staircase that uses triangular or kite-shaped "winder" treads to make the turn instead of a flat landing

A double winder staircase is a  space-saving staircase that turns 180 degrees (a full U-shape or  switchback) using triangular "winder" steps instead of a flat landing

A U-shaped staircase is a design consisting of two parallel flights of stairs connected by a turn, usually involving a landing. When viewed from above, they form a 'U' shape.
